1. Introduction

Welcome to Imanly ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to it.

Imanly is an Islamic lifestyle app for iOS offering daily prayer tracking, dhikr, Quran reading, Islamic trivia, habit building, and an AI-powered Quran chat. Because our app is by its very nature connected to your religious beliefs and practice, we treat your data with the highest level of care and discretion.

Please read this policy carefully. By using Imanly, you agree to the practices described below.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

This policy applies to all users of the Imanly iOS application worldwide. Users in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area (EEA) have additional rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, which are described in Section 10. Users in the United States should also note the relevant state-level rights in Section 11.

Imanly is intended for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at imanlyapp@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

3. Special Category Data (Religious Information)

We will never sell, rent, share, or disclose your religious data to any third party for advertising, profiling, political, or any other commercial purpose.

4. What Data We Collect

4.1 Data You Provide

• Prayer check-in records and habit tracking data
• Dhikr (remembrance) counts and streaks
• Quran reading progress and bookmarks
• Messages and queries you send to the Quran AI Chat feature
• Trivia responses and scores

4.2 Data Collected Automatically

• Basic app usage analytics (e.g. crashes, session length) — see Section 5.3 for third-party tools
• Subscription and purchase status (managed by Apple — we receive only a confirmation token, not your payment details)

4.3 Location Data

If you use the prayer times or Qibla direction features, Imanly requests access to your device's GPS location. This location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. It is used solely in real time to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction and is not stored, logged, or used to build any profile of your movements.

5. How We Use Your Data

5.1 To Provide the App

All data related to your prayer checklists, dhikr, habits, and Quran progress is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or sync this data to our servers. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

5.2 Quran AI Chat

When you use the Quran AI Chat feature, your messages are sent to Groq, Inc. — our AI infrastructure provider — for processing. Groq returns a response based solely on the Quran and authentic scholarly sources. Important points:

• Your queries are transmitted securely to Groq's servers for real-time processing only
• Your queries are NOT used to train any AI model
• Your chat history is stored locally on your device only — it is never sent to our servers
• Groq processes your data as a Data Processor on our behalf and under our instructions

5.3 Subscription Management

Subscriptions and payments are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or process your payment details. Apple acts as the merchant of record. Apple's privacy policy is available at apple.com/legal/privacy.

6. Data Storage and Security

The majority of your data — including prayer logs, dhikr counts, Quran progress, habits, and AI chat history — is stored locally on your iOS device. It is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, etc.).

We do not operate our own user database or cloud backend. As a result, we do not transmit your personal or religious data to any server we control.

While no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, we have designed Imanly with a privacy-first, local-first architecture specifically to minimise the exposure of your sensitive data.

7. Data Retention

Because your data is stored locally on your device, retention is in your hands. Data persists on your device until you delete the app or clear its data through iOS settings.

The only data that exists outside your device is queries sent to Groq during AI chat sessions. These are processed in real time and are not stored by us. Please refer to Groq's privacy policy for their data retention practices.

8. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)

We use the following third-party services which may process your data on our behalf:

• Groq, Inc. — AI inference provider for the Quran Chat feature. Processes your chat queries in real time. Does not train on your data.
• Apple, Inc. — App distribution and in-app purchase processing via the App Store.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use advertising networks or allow any third-party advertising SDK in Imanly.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Access and Deletion

Since your data lives on your device, you can access, export, or delete it at any time by using iOS settings or deleting the app. To request deletion of any data we may hold (such as AI query logs held by our processors), please contact us at imanlyapp@gmail.com.

9.2 Withdrawal of Consent

You may stop using Imanly and delete the app at any time. This effectively withdraws your consent for any further data processing by us.

9.3 Opt-Out of Location

You can revoke location access at any time via iOS Settings > Imanly > Location. This will disable prayer time calculation and Qibla direction features.

10. UK & EU GDPR Rights

If you are located in the UK or EEA, you have the following rights under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR:

• Right of Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten") — request deletion of your data
• Right to Restriction — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances
• Right to Data Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Right to Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to Withdraw Consent — at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing

11. California & US Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact imanlyapp@gmail.com.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Imanly is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, by in-app notification. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
